Spinternet is part of the universe of Mijn naam is Haas.

Spinternet teaches young children between 3 and 7 years the ABC's of media literacy, starting with the internet, in a playful way.
Children are already media consumers at a young age. We teach children how to read and write, but in our media society, digital literacy is becoming increasingly important. That’s why Spinternet was developed. The website is designed as a fun and educational media activity for toddlers and preschoolers to engage in with their parents, teachers, or caregivers. At home, at school, in the library, on your computer, interactive whiteboard, or tablet, Spinternet is everywhere.
The project was initiated by Mijn Kind Online and Mijn naam is Haas. With the support of the Media Literacy Expertise Center (Mediawijzer.net), the free website was created. All partners in the project have been dedicated for years to helping young children, their parents/caregivers, and professional educators develop their media skills in their own way.
Spinternet consists of four parts:
• An interactive story introducing the concept of ‘internet,’ with the characters Haas and Sofie from the award-winning serious game Mijn naam is Haas;
• A video explaining the concept of ‘internet’, In the video you discover the fascinating history of the world wide web spun by Mother Spider;
• A game that deepens understanding of the concept. To explain the connectivity of the internet to children, children make a drawing on one screen. To simulate how the internet works, you will physically connect the screens of the two devices with a (woolen) thread. The fireflies from the introductory video literally fly through the thread from one screen to the other. In this way, the drawing you created is sent through Spinternet.;
• A reflection task;
• A contest on Facebook is linked to this reflection task
